Last month Xiaomi announced the Mi 8 Lite as a more affordable option of its flagship series, but the phone was introduced only on the Chinese market. It eventually made its way to Ukraine and now Donovan Sung, global spokesperson of the company, said on Twitter France is also getting the Lite variant of the Mi 8 and other markets will follow soon.
The device was initially introduced in a gradient Twilight Gold, Dream Blue, and a more clean Deep Space Gray colors. It looks like all three options will hit the global scene since Sung is preparing us for “some colorful mixes”.
The device arrived initially in three memory configurations – 4/64 GB, 6/64 GB, and 6/128 GB. Prices were respectively CNY1,399, CNY1,699, and CNY1,999. This translates from $205/€175 to $290/€250, but we expected slightly higher price in Europe and other markets after taxes and import duites are levied.
The vivo X23 has been out since early September in Magic Blue, Phantom Purple and Phantom Red and today vivo has added a new Star Edition option to the mix.
The new color option features a light to dark red gradient finish with vertical colored stripes along the back.
The vivo X23 Start Edition is now available for pre-order at a price of CNY 3,500 (€440) with a shipping date yet to be assigned.
Color aside, the Star Edition is the same vivo X23 that’s been out from early September. It houses a 6.41-inch Super AMOLED screen with an embedded in-display fingerprint scanner, a Snapdragon 670 with up to 8GB of RAM, a 3,400mAh battery and three cameras – a dual 12MP f/1.8 + 13MP f/2.4 and a 12MP front-facing camera.
According to data obtained by Rosenblatt Securities analyst Jun Zhang, Apple sold around 9 million iPhone XR units in the phone’s opening weekend.
Those are some stellar numbers but ones that fall short of said analyst’ prediction of 10 million units.
Because of this Zhang has trimmed his estimates for the production of the new iPhones in November and December from 90 million units to 88 million.
Despite the slightly underwhelming sales figures (according to Zhang’s sources), the analyst still expects Apple to have a record breaking holiday quarter. He forecasts better than $91 billion in revenue thanks to the new iPhone’s higher average selling price and the expected new iPad Pro and Macbook models, which Apple will unveil on October 30.

Lenovo is introducing the flagship Z5 Pro in two days that will have a massive screen-to-body ratio and slider form factor similar to the Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 and the Honor Magic 2. The company VP and former president of ZUK Chang Cheng introduced the main camera setup the device will have – dual AI snappers with 24 MP and 16 MP sensors.
The phone’s tagline is, roughly translated as “An Epochal Flagship” and it will have one of the most advanced cameras in a Lenovo smartphone. The 24 MP + 16 MP setup will have AI Super Night Mode scene and AI Video, according to Cheng who posted a teaser on Weibo.
The image also confirms there will be two selfie shooters in the slider, positioned on both sides of the speaker, while the proximity sensor will be slightly right from the camera setup. The teased photo on the image reveals clear details in low-light environment.
Although we are not sure if the image as real, the watermark in the lower left corner surely suggests the new Lenovo Z5 Pro will snap similarly vibrant images. All we have to do is wait until November 1 when the official event is taking place.
